Have you ever been in a situation where you couldn’t do what most kids do: like walking, running, playing outside? Well I have, but the only reason I can do those things now is because of Dr. Mundis. It was about two years ago when I was almost 11, it started in the summer of 2013. We were in Thailand on a trip. We had gone to the hospital many times because I complained of back pain, but everything they would give me wouldn’t help. Finally, we went back to Japan and my dad felt like that we need to get a c-t scan, and so we did. Then we finally found what was really wrong with my back: an infection was eating away one of my vertebras from the inside out.
We spent two more months in Japan trying to help me, but they said the only thing they could do was treat it as cancer. That meant I would stay in a hospital for around 2 months. We did not want to do that, because we knew that if we didn’t to something quick I wouldn’t ever be able to walk again. Then Dr. Mundis came in, his Dad is the head of our mission. Then I flew to America with my mom. The day after I got there I had surgery. I had to stay in the hospital for about 8 more days. The nurses told me that eight days was super quick for me. They said usually you have to stay in the hospital longer. I knew that it was the Lord who knew that I wanted to get out of the hospital. If it wasn’t for Dr. Mundis, I wouldn’t be walking and running like I am now.
